Saw the photo in Thursday's paper of my Dad swimming the 3.5 mile wide Pamlico River in eastern NC? Well here's the deal. It's 3.5 miles wide. That's wide. In the background there's a shrimp boat. And not much land. I ran the small boat, a row boat with a motor attached, while my dad swam across and he returned the favor for me on the way back.
